IF you are broke, and you go out and BUY ON CREDIT supplies to paint up and fix up your own home, HOW IN HELL IS THAT GOING TO HELP ANYTHING ! We will be only deeper in debt ! missdivinestalls – yes I agree let’s look for ways to manage and maintain. But what’s wrong with Capitalism and Free Markets? The mess that is happening day to day is Free Markets playing itself out. Every day is a new gov’t program – If the Great Depression taught us anything is that when gov’t gets involved a recession can last 17 years. The bright side is we’ll learn to live within our means and teach our kids that the size of your TV compared to your neighbor really doesn’t matter.
Oh, I see. I must be a “Zionist” (which I’m not), rather than a realist, if I simply state the obvious.. Nuclear deterrence is a reality and is, and has historically been, a major piece on the foreign policy chessboard. And it’s not a illogical, nor unbefitting of the mentalities at all, because it’s always a possibility. To deny that, is simply to deny a standing reality. Maybe so. But the U.S. has about 10,000 times as much nuclear mega-tonnage than the Chinese do – along with a very accurate delivery system to deploy it. So as far as learning Mandarin goes, I really don’t see the necessity of it — at least in the foreseeable future.
China – America’s LARGEST creditor. Yikes! Talk about leverage! China just announced a few weeks ago an increased military budget. If they wanted to ruin THE EMPIRE (US) they would just have to jump all their dollars (thanks to the huge trade deficit). Remember this – China has more people in their military than we have people.
