Don, I agree the consumer is at fault for spending $ that they do not even have. However, the U.S. Govt is spending, or excuse me, [Borrowing] money they do not have to spend on thing that we do not need! So, I think everyone is at fault!

yes you are right saving is good, but they aren't saving until they pay off their consumer debts. THEN the economy will pull out of recession as savings grow. BTW the book that you mentioned "Richest Man in Babylon" is excellent, I recommend the audio book on iTunes, it is narrated very well.

Don,
I just discovered you. Your message may actually save some of the horde of spiritually dead ZOMBIES that make up most of our population, if the time is right. It is sad for me to see the numbers of my fellow man who are TOTALLY OWNED by the people they have bowwoed money from.
Very impressive video.

I don't get why people are arguing with the facts of this video.

It is quite logical, You spending money on things you don't need with money you don't have is harmful and wasteful.

You don't need a damn limo and you don't need to renovate you backyard with a pool when you're in so much debt.

Simple logic.

but jchahine... I think the whole recession business is based on a myth if just because "sales" are down suddenly there's a recession. Lack of sales from dept. stores aren't a good barometer for how much money the consumer has. In fact it's the opposite really. I mean if sales are down that's not necesarilly because people are poor... maybe people are just buying less ridiculous stuff they don't need. recession to me means that people can't buy the things they need...

but in todays market revolutionaryJam, we have both cars that are assembled by hand for a very expensive price (i.e. rolls, bently etc.) and cars that are not AS good but still great for a much lesser price. When everyone makes more money in a particular country the lower end jobs don't go away, but change from building a car to working on a movie set, or shit being a butler in a country that's well off is probably a great job! The jobs don't disappear because of robots... they change.

very liberal statement... RevJam.. unless I'm destroying the earth with production... How does producing create destruction? If a bunch of farmers get together and figure out how to produce more goods at less cost then that's a cool thing, and drives prices down. I'm saying this whole recession business is ridiculous as long as a lower-class income guy like me can still afford to eat out every night.

I love how the media referred to cutting out a latte from Starbucks, using a slip and slide, and actually cooking your own meals as "draconian".
"Oh, boo-hoo, we have to brew our own coffee."

Americans have become a gluttonous shitpile.
These people will never survive when the economy collapses.
I GROW MOST of what my family eats, you know, in a garden, from the dirt, with seeds.

I sure would hate to have to "cut back" and go to the farmers market.

It's called being responsible.

Wow, want an award? Not everyone is in a position to grow food. Some people live in apartments.
