@translateslowly this clip is from the Jimmie Rodgers Jubilee in Kerrville Texas, 1988. The show was moved indoors because of a hurricane. “Small Town” was the first song I ever finished. I later changed the title to “Talkin’ at the Texaco” and added a bridge. We played a different groove on the record. Those Indiana boys didn’t like shuffles.

I thought Under the Dome sucked…but the song and McMurtry are great! Amazing that King wrote more than a thousand pages after listening to a 2:12 song. I read ‘em all and regret it, except that it led me to the song.

I just finished reading under the dome like 3 minutes ago and i was not expecting it to end that wasy….what happened in some parts of the book was extremely sad and brought me to tears. Such a great book
