Bush asked for democrat support to tighten, Democrats controlled the entire financial system under Bush, Democrats control our financial system today.
Bottom line, Democrats refused to listen to the warnings from GOP and you expect them to fix this mess? Not one Democrat pushed to tighten. Democrat policies prior to Bush taking office caused this mess, reason for their non support.
GOP also tried to fix this mess under Clinton, Clinton admited on ABC.

All of these people who are beating up on the regulators are, if I am not mistaken, people of color — Why would black Dem Congressmen protect this THING – IT used PEOPLE to get votes by putting families at risk. Democrats placed poor minorities into houses they couldn’t afford and then set back and watched as these people’s credit was ruined, when the mortgage payments come due? Why would a political party do this? Unless of course it is because they hate minorities, especially black people.

I would rather see US Taxpayers dealing directly with Fannie and Freddie… Cut out the middle man ( the Banks ) and the foreclosure problem would be over. Screw the Banks! She was bought by Fannie like so many of our politicians are owned by interests that donate heavily to their campaigns.
